Eric went on to complete a Clinical Master’s Degree in Advanced Nursing Practice, which gives him the ability to independently diagnose, order laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, prescribe medications, and perform advanced invasive procedures.

In addition to his generalist training as an NP, Eric furthered his studies by completing additional practicum training in ultrasound-guided regenerative medicine at Calgary's Advanced Spinal Care Center in 2011 and 2012.

He is one of only a few medically trained practitioners in the province to offer ultrasound-guided injections to the spine. He has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injuries and pain that originates from muscles, ligaments, or tendons.

Eric is regarded as a clinical expert in his field and has given many presentations on this subject. These include the Canadian Platelet Rich Plasma Symposium (Regenerative Medicine for the treatment of refractory thoracic spine pain), the University of Calgary's Department of Clinical Neuro-Science Pain & Rehabilitation resident academic training and the Pearls for Practice Conference, the Canadian Bar Association, and multiple physiotherapy clinics throughout Calgary. In addition, in the last eight years he has accumulated over 160 Priority 1 American Medical Association credits focusing on ultrasound-guided injections for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain. Most recently, he has authored the chapter on Pain Management for the Canadian Nursing Medical-Surgical textbook by Wolters Kluwer Health Inc.

 

He enjoys working closely and collaboratively with other health professionals throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan and BC, in treating patients suffering from more complex pain.

In his personal live, he is married to a wonderfully supportive and understanding wife, Kristine, and has three children: Elijah, Owen, and Colette.
